During his first visit as a tourist, Sri Y. Jagan Mohan Rao was deeply moved by the hospitality and love of the local Fijian people. He felt an instant connection in the serene beauty of the Fijian Islands.

Aahana Group connects the people of both nations, introducing vibrant celebrations, unique styles, and traditional subcontinental tastes to Fiji. We proudly offer designer clothing, elegant home decor, and rich culinary experiences — all affordable and filled with joy.

We are devoted to empowering local talent through employment. We follow transparent ethical practices and proudly donate 5% of profits to local charities and another 5% to educational scholarships, supporting orphanages and people with disabilities.

Professional Journey

Sri Y. Jagan Mohan Rao began his career in 1990 as a reporter for Doordarshan News, India’s government channel. Working with Union Ministers, he relocated to New Delhi, gaining insights into policy-making. He later returned to Andhra Pradesh to assist Chief Minister Sri N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in governance and social service.

Passionate about cinema, he co-produced the Telugu film “Venkatapuram”. He also took up a business franchise for Australia’s Pinnacle Gold Laboratories, specializing in infant nutrition. Though the venture ended with the founder’s untimely passing, a spontaneous trip to Fiji would soon transform his life.

Background

Great trees grow from deep roots. Born to a middle-class family in West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, Sri Y. Jagan Mohan Rao worked part-time to support his education. With few resources and no shortcuts, he built his life on discipline, responsibility, and the pursuit of excellence.

His story is one of perseverance and purpose — a man who refused to compromise on values, and whose vision today inspires the Aahana movement across Fiji.
